Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is proof that you don't need a console to tell a proper fantasy story. You lead a small band of misfits across a crumbling kingdom, fighting through turn-based battles that reward planning over button mashing. The party members each have their own quirks, and swapping them in and out changes how a fight feels.

The writing is better than it has any right to be on a phone. There are genuine moments of humour and a couple of story beats that caught me off guard. Battles move quickly enough that grinding never feels like a chore, and the skill system gives you room to build characters your own way.

My only gripe is the inventory screen, which could use some tidying. Otherwise this is one of the most complete RPG experiences I've found on mobile, and it runs smoothly even on an older device.
